30 April 1910 census of Louisburg, Montgomery County, KS, found the Bretches family living in dwelling #119, next door to the William Bretches family. Charles and Lena said that they had been married 11 years and all 4 of their chiidren were still living:

Beulah Marie Bretches Garten, 95, died of congestive heart failure at San Gorgonio Memerial Hospital in Banning, Calif.
Married Harry James Garten Apirl 25, 1923.
She had been a teacher in Dickinsin, County, Kansas.
She was a photo finisher for Photostat & Blue Print Shop in Tulsa, Okla., for 14 years before moving to Banning, Calif., for 31 years. She and her husband owned Ole's Antique Shop in Banning.
She is survived by two sons, Harry James JR., of Banning and Charles Hardy of Coalinga, Calif.;a sister, of Topeka; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the Desert Lawn Cemetery in Calimesa, Calif.
