Guy Miller meets Marie Lounsbury:
The Miller family was renting from the Lounsbury family in Osage County, OK, while Albert Miller was running their well drill. Albert just wouldn't show up some days so son Guy, who was about 19 and a good mechanic, often offered to fill in when Elmore Lounsbury would allow it. At the time, Marie was a widow with four children but she was so pretty that Guy fell in love and "mooned "after. She was 23 and thought him a "kid", which in some ways he was. Marie married another man who soon exposed his violent side, so that marriage lasted less than a year. Guy was still hanging around, doing whatever he could for Marie and the kids. Guy eventually wore her down and they had one of the best marriages in the family. Guy could always find a job and would often wind up as the foreman. He was an easy going, big-hearted person and people loved him.
